Incidence of duping people and eliciting bank a/c or card related information is on the rise. Its extremely important for people to be aware of this and NEVER REVEAL YOUR PIN or any other details to anyone over phone.
Some simple thumb rule are:
1. Keep a complicated password that is easy to remember for you but tough for others to guess.
2. Avoid using Common computers or Net Cafe for net Banking activities. If compelled, change the password from a safer system at the earliest.
3. NEVER BELIEVE ANY ONE CALLING YOU AND SHARE YOUR CARD DETAILS LIKE PIN, DATE OF BIRTH, CARD and EXPIRY DATE. NO BANK will ask for these details over phone.
4. Do Not post sensitive details like your DOB, spouse name, Father's name, mother's name, PAN card and Aadhaar details in insecure website.
5. Also , do not simply throw away your credit/debit card charge slips or ATM slips. Better take them with you and shred / tear them to pieces at home like safe locations

If the above are adopted, I feel one can feel reasonably safe though absolute safety is becoming a myth , nowadays.
